Ian this is brilliantly articulated, with all bases covered. Rejection and acceptance has always been a seesaw visciously weighted unfortunately on the negative seat. As you say, to survive healthily of mind it’s best to spend endless time unearthing why you write and what you want from it.
Fantastic read. Sure, the last four points are on most of our minds, but it's also because I must. These stories, these characters, they simply want to come out of my head and play, and when I'm writing and "in the zone" it's a feeling that I don't think I could live without. I tried once, and shut it out of my life for many years and regretted that. I'm so glad to be back...back to being myself.
