Great idea. Think of Willie Nelson as well on two fronts. Fort William to Mallaig with steam — over the Glenfinnan Viaduct but before you go Listen to the City of New Orleans. It has a great rhythm. Anyway do it. I liked Mull too but not that impressed with Oban except for Black Guillimots in the harbour and a ferry to Mull. Tobermory should inspire.

From Oban you can do a ferry-and- bus day-trip (one ticket) to Mull, Staffa snd Iona, with time to walk around. Highly recommended!
