So here’s the scenario.
I was wondering if it would be possible to write something which described what you might see if you were opening your eyes on the world for the first time: so Adam in the Garden of Eden, or an Alien suddenly finding themselves on Earth, or a baby (but one able to articulate what it saw)… And then as part of the process, perhaps consider that the individual ‘seeing’ for the first time might not have the words / all the necessary for what they saw: how would a baby know a bird was called a ‘bird’, for example?
So there’s the challenge: imagine you are that individual opening your eyes for the first time. How would you describe what you saw? Poem, flash fiction, entirely up to you. A test of imagination — and language too, depending on how you approach the ‘words’ conundrum.
