Why so pale?
Enrico gouged the ground with a mighty heavy hoof. He pounded the moist earth. His breeding made him brave, proud, and intimidating. His destiny was to fight in Seville against the greatest Toreadors.
The activists came in the early morning, bearing sweet hay to mask their deception. He followed them. Why not, he thought, food is always welcome. They snapped the trailer ramp behind him, pulled a bag over his head, and suffocated his horns with multicoloured socks. His great muscles coiled under his black skin as he fought the bindings. He overheard them talking about freeing him from the tyranny of blood sports to let him peacefully graze the Heritage parks of England.
When they released him, he stamped at three shapes standing beside the wood. He ripped the ground, snorted, bellowed, and charged. In the debris of the toppled forms, his red eyes gleamed as he hunted another paleface.
