What can you expect from my Substack?
Here's what's coming up over the next few months...
As I build my collateral on Writing until the light goes out, I thought it might be informative to outline a timetable in order to give my subscribers a sense of what they can expect to see over the next few months.
17 Alma Road. The pre-publication serialisation of the novel will continue with the last episode scheduled to be posted in mid-February. 17 Alma Road will then be published, most likely in the Spring and most likely under my Coverstory books imprint.
not the Sonnets. At a rate of five sonnets per week I will have read and posted the complete collection by about August 2024. But if you can’t wait that long the book is already available to buy! Go here for links.
An Irregular Piece of Sky. The final short story I’m serialising from this collection will be posted in March. Again, the book is already published and available. Links are here.
Secrets & Wisdom. The last post in this serialisation will be delivered Around April. Details on the print version can be found here.
What else?
Well, drafting Grimsby Docks is going well, and I may publish one or two more early version of poems over the coming months. I anticipate the collection being ready at some point in Spring 2024 when the book will be published by Coverstory books (probably in hardback format only).
My embryonic new collection of short stories is also gathering some degree of ‘mass’ - though it’s too early to make any predictions as to availability here or in terms of publication.
Other than that I think you can expect the occasional writing-related post, and the odd prompt for up-coming Coverstory books’ projects. [You can find some current submission opportunities here, one of which closes at the end of this month.]
Thank you for your attention and - if you are a subscriber - for subscribing to Writing until the lights go out. Please note, paid subscribers can now start threads/conversations on the site. If you’re not a subscriber, it would be great if you would consider joining me on my journey.
I’m working hard to keep up my side of the deal!
