the carers


she
	sits stationary in her wheelchair
	leant to one side
	limbs folded
	like an abandoned attempt at origami

he
	bent forward
	leans in urgently to listen
	as if her words
	might be stolen away by the afternoon breeze

they
	have paused mid-walk
	perhaps as they might have dawdled
	many years ago
	arm-in-arm in the park
	she 	pointing out…
